No, DEF is less hazardous than other fluids used in a truck, like diesel, brake fluid, and antifreeze. It's biodegradable and can be transported without a hazardous substance placard.
Store DEF in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area in a container designed for DEF. Avoid storing it outdoors or in containers made of carbon steel, aluminum, copper, or zinc.
DEF can last at least one year if stored between 10° and 90° Fahrenheit. Storing it at 75° Fahrenheit can extend its shelf life to two years.
