Through continual use, BlueDEF PLATINUM® with Advance SYSTEM SHIELD™ Technology reduces future deposits that build up in your diesel exhaust system. These deposits create back pressure which can increase fuel consumption and reduce engine power. Once residue collects, it cannot be removed and over time can lead to the costly replacement of your SCR system.
Diesel exhaust fluid is one of the key elements of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) process used by most medium and heavy-duty engine builders to meet EPA 2010 regulations. DEF is a mixture of synthetic urea and water that is added to diesel exhaust systems to lower or remove toxic nitrogen oxide emissions. It is nontoxic but will freeze in temperatures under 12°F and can corrode aluminum or carbon steel containers if transferred or stored improperly. It is recommended to keep your DEF fluid in its original container.
