How long does it take for appliance paint to dry?

Dries to the touch in 2-4 hours, to handle in 5-9 hours and is fully dry in 24 hours. May recoat within 30 minutes or after 1 week.

Can you paint right over rust with Rust-Oleum?

It will seal and treat light surface rust. If there's light rust that you can scrape off with a fingernail or scraper, you can just paint over it. If it's heavier rust, you should treat it with a different product first, or remove the rust with some kind of abrasive.
