Red Line ® Engine Oil Break-In Additive is used in conventional or synthetic motor oils lacking adequeate zinc and phosphorus (ZDDP), the anti-wear additive necessary for protecting against excessive camshaft and valvetrain wear during engine break-in. Formulated with the latest antiwear additives for extreme protection, this product is designed to allow piston rings to seat properly while protecting against excessive wear of other engine components during the critical break-in process. Specifically designed for flat-tappet camshaft engines. Suitable for solid-roller and hydraulic roller valvetrain.
- Provides conventional motor oils with antiwear additives like zinc and phosphorus (ZDDP) necessary to protect against camshaft and valvetrain damage on break-in
- Allows pistons rings to seat properly with less-slick oil, while antiwear additives protect other engines components to avoid excessive wear
- Can also be used in conventional and synthetic oils during regular operation, providing an extra package of protection otherwise not found in most motor oils
- One 16 oz. bottle treats up to 12 quarts of motor oil--in many cases, one bottle can serve two engines or oil changes
