Its stainless steel flake polyurethane and epoxy topcoats are weldable, meaning fabricators can coat right up to a joint and weld through it, and they show up everywhere from marine hardware to agricultural equipment to industrial tanks exposed to constant weather and chemical exposure.

The technology traces back to Stainless Steel Coatings, Inc., founded in 1974, which pioneered the idea of suspending genuine 316L stainless steel flake in a liquid coating rather than relying on paint alone to fight rust. That core chemistry is still what separates STEEL-IT from ordinary industrial paint — it's a real metal barrier, not just a colored film.
